Academic training in SIL focuses on preparing people to do quality linguistic fieldwork, literacy, and translation.
Training for Roles in Language Work
The program of study for anthropology specialists prepares students for fieldwork as part of a multi-disciplinary team. Students are expected to take the Basic Courses and one or two additional courses depending on the student's background.
A candidate for Anthropology Specialist needs an M.A. in anthropology or at least a B.A. in anthropology with some graduate work already completed. It is expected that work for the M.A. in anthropology will be completed at some future date.
