What is a language associate?



A language associate is a person who

  • teaches you how to speak a language
  • provides you with language data, and
  • helps you do linguistic research.

Language associates should be

  • easy to work with
  • interested in the work
  • available to work on a regular basis
  • a fluent speaker of the language, and
  • a mother tongue speaker, if possible.
