The second section discusses language learning methodologies and how they are changing. The next four sections address methodologies to help learners achieve proficiency in listening, speaking, reading and writing. There are also chapters on accuracy, testing, cultural understanding. The book concludes with some practical guidelines for planning instruction for the proficiency-oriented classroom. Appendices including ACTFL guidelines, a list of functions, sample tests, forms useful in course evaluations. Index.
