The Linguist's Shoebox

Integrated data management and analysis for the field linguist

The user settings folder can help you keep your Shoebox files better organized.

There are at least three kinds of Shoebox-related files on your computer's hard disk: program files, data files, and "settings" files. Many Shoebox users find it harder to organize the settings files than their data files. The Shoebox Setup/Installer program automatically creates a user settings folder for the Shoebox-specific settings files that relate directly to your databases. This reduces the risk of unintentionally duplicating settings information and it tends to make it easier to diagnose and correct problems with settings files.
