Speech Analysis and Phonetics

Four programs related to speech analysis and phonetics are listed here: CECIL, Speech Analysis Tools, Signalyze, and FindPhone. CECIL is a speech analysis program especially appropriate for field use. Speech Analysis Tools have replaced the Windows version of CECIL. Signalyze is an excellent, if pricey, speech analysis tool, which can also be immensely useful in the field. FindPhone is useful for doing basic distributional analysis of phonetic forms.

Also listed here are fonts for linguistic use (Encore IPA Fonts, Encore Fonts) and keyboard utilities for typing these fonts (KeyMan, SILKey).

CECIL

System for doing acoustic speech analysis, mainly tone and stress analysis; displays waveform, fundamental frequency (pitch), and amplitude (stress), spectrograms and spectra. The Windows version has been replaced by the Speech Analysis Tools.
