The Windows Package

We recommend you browse the Read Me and File Listing.

The SIL Hebrew Font System is a self-extracting archive. To download,

  1. Click on Download SILHEB11.ZIP now (1839K, zip file).

  2. After the download is complete, use File Manager or Explorer to select the drive icon where the SILHEB11.EXE file is located.

  3. Find SILHEB11.EXE in the directory window and double-click on it.

  4. Once the files are decompressed, look in the newly created SILHEB10 directory in the Doc directory for the Installation Guide (Install.pdf).

  5. To all Users: Print out and follow the instructions in this document to install.

FTP to ftp.sil.org [208.145.80.1]. Log in as "anonymous" and give your e-mail address as the password. Do these commands:

cd [.fonts.win]
binary
get SILHEB11.zip

 

The Macintosh Package

We recommend you browse the Release Notes and File Listing.

The SIL Hebrew Font System is a self-extracting archive. The download file will be either a MacBinary (.bin) or BinHex file (.hqx). Use Stuffit Expander or a similar utility to decode the file. Hopefully, your web browser already has one. If you're not sure, try downloading the package first. If it doesn't decompress (create a folder named "SIL Hebrew v1.0"), here is a site with instructions for getting one Getting Stuffit Expander.

  1. Click on one of the links below to download:
  2. If your utility has not already decompressed the contents of the archive, double-click on it. This will create a new folder on your hard drive named "SIL Hebrew v1.0".

  3. Look in this folder in the Documentation v1.0 folder for the Installation Guide (Install.pdf). Follow the instructions in this document to install the full SIL Hebrew Font System.

  4. If you are using Systems prior to Mac OS 8, we recommend you also download the SIL Font Cache Extender to avoid problems with font display. Mac OS 8.x users should also download this if the SIL Ezra font sometimes displays as Geneva (or all blanks).
