Toolbox (The Field Linguist’s Toolbox) (Endorsed)
Current version: 1.5.8, released February 2010
Toolbox is a data management and analysis tool for field linguists. It is especially useful for maintaining lexical data, and for parsing and interlinearizing text, but it can be used to manage virtually any kind of data.
Toolbox is built on Shoebox 5, and is upward compatible with Shoebox. It adds Unicode support, automatic keyboard switching with Keyman 5 and 6, and verification of interlinear text. A training package is provided, which includes a startup kit designed to introduce new users to the program.
If you are currently using Shoebox, you can upgrade to Toolbox without any change to your data or settings files. But if in Toolbox you make use of features which were not available in Shoebox, you may lose information from the settings files if you then open that project in Shoebox.
Feedback on Toolbox is always welcomed (via the contact email address), but support is limited, and will be provided only as time permits.
