Fonts for Magar and Syuba Languages
Two new fonts for the Magar and Syuba langauges have just been released. These are available in our Fonts and Downloads section. These are modified forms of the SIL Annapurna font. Now updated to version 1.2.
Following the 7.8 magnitude earthquake on 25 April, all SIL Nepal staff as well as partnering project staff are reported safe. Although SIL is not equipped as a disaster response organization, we encourage donations to other reputable organizations that have mobilized to provide vital emergency relief.

Lhomi community of Nepal prepares for multilingual preschool
(March 2015) In the highlands of northeastern Nepal, a recent workshop was a major step towards the Lhomi community’s goal of offering mother-tongue schooling for their children. Organized by the Nepal Lhomi Society (NELHOS) with technical support provided by SIL Nepal, the event began with a one-day awareness raising workshop.More information about the workshop can be found here.

Madhya Purbiya Tharu Dictionary Workshop 8-19 September 2014
SIL International (Nepal), in partnership with Mother Tongue Centre Nepal, conducted a Rapid Word Collection workshop for the Madhya Purbiya Tharu community of SE Nepal Sept 8-19. Forty Tharu participants, from twelve districts, collected words from over 1800 semantic domains, glossed them in Nepali, and uploaded them to an online dictionary.
The Nepal Section of the Ethnologue is now available as a bilingual English-Nepali volume.
